Attention Curious Man fans!
We regret to inform you that an incident occurred here in Monsanto, the Most Portuguese Village' in Portugal.
The Curious Man and his Nice Wife arrived here yesterday with their lovely companions, Nice Wife's Nice Friend (NWNF) and Nice Wife's Nice Friend's Husband (NWNFH). The village. shrouded in mist and dripping with rain, looked beautiful in the evening light.
And the four companions enjoyed it very much, wandering the streets, marvelling at the houses squashed between and under giant granite boulders and feasting on Portuguese delicacies.
But next morning, something strange seemed to come over the NW.
Maybe it was the umbrella saga or the missed plane or the stuff up about the car pick-up. Perhaps it was the incident in the restaurant the night before when the CM coerced and confused the waiter, who had very little English, into explaining in Portuguese to a local lady why we couldn't buy her home-made pomanders because of the Australian Customs laws...
...but something just seemed to snap..
And so the plan was enacted....
