After checking in to Pension
Danny,

Curious Man is enchanted to discover, perched above his head, a pair of old wooden skis, reminiscent of his childhood.
we’ll enjoy dinner in a
converted prison with vaulted walls
where the cuisine is so good that you can even eat the bowl!
 |
| Mmmm, bowl.... |
And the mead is so delicious that you order three of them.

Nice Wife toasts Cesky Krumlov with her third cup of Mead
To finish off the night we’ll take a walk through the castle grounds.
Make sure your camera batteries are fully charged because if you’re
anything like the Curious Man, you’ll be taking 112 shots of this alluring
castle looking ethereal in the swirling mists.
Most of them will look like this:
But this is his best one:
And
this is how it looks by day:

Taken by the Nice Wife with just one shot
It even had a bear pit!
Cesky bears on guard at the castle...
DAY 13
Today the sun will come out, so grab the chance to do some canoeing and
shoot some rapids on the river Volta.
 |
There is only one quick shot of this. The Nice Wife insists on the Curious Man having his hands on the oars AT ALL TIMES.
Eat a trrrllkkksssaaahhkkll –sort of Cesky donut-delicious!
 |
| Having successfully asked and paid for a trrrllkkksssaaahhkkll, the nice wife enjoys her trrrllkkksssaaahhkkll in Cesky Krumluv. Speaking Czech is SO easy, especially with a trrrllkkksssaaahhkkll in your mouth. |
Then take to the back roads bound for Vienna...
Next time...The Curious Man Hits the Edge!

I thought the very dark and contrast free shot of the alluring castle in Cesky Krumlov was beautifully composed and worthy of some applause; indeed the dark shot was so special it would never be wasted as a typical postcard. In addition, we thought the action shot of 'Nice Wife' sampling her third mead was very thought provoking. By way of comparison, we have just arrived in the Lake District after 4 days in Wales I we feel we have been on the set of Coronation Street for the past 4 days although the scenery is anything but grey. Keep well, Judy & Garry
ReplyDeleteThanks for your considered comments Gary and Judy.Martin especially appreciates that someone out there understands his unique photographic art form. Heaven forbid his work should end up on a postcard!
DeleteI'll bet your enjoying the Lake District. You're probably very seasoned walkers by now! Cheers, Berys and Martin :-)
The very first photo looks very much like a postcard! You have visited some very unusual place, which is good, as we have no real castles down here. Keep them coming, they look great.
ReplyDeleteCastles are not always desirable, as you'll find out in the next episode!
