Day 6 Colmar
A visit to the Unterlinden Museum, home of the famous Isenheim Altarpiece.
NB.There is no photo of the altar because the Curious Man was distracted by
a display of medieval knockers…
They made them big in those days
Off to Nancy in the afternoon for some Art Nouveau appreciation..
Day 7 Nancy
Walk around Place Stanislaus saying “wow’ every five minutes.
Then visit the Museum de Beaux Arts to see the work of the Art Nouveau
glass maker, Daum.
Say “wow” every five seconds because there are hundreds of pieces of glassware, so beautiful that you could take every piece home (if you don't mind mortgaging your house).
Day 8 To Germany and Beyond
Off towards Germany.
Stuff around for a bit in a messy place called Metz.
Enjoy the slow pace of a traffic jam and find out what it’s like to misunderstand your Sat Nav.
(We call her Nancy, she’s an air-head!)
Finally cross into Germany and enjoy some beautiful country roads.
**living on the edge
Thanks to Nancy Airhead, you realise that with night drawing in you have nowhere to stay...
..but you are very close to the ancient castle of
Lohrbach.
Cap in hand, Curious Man approaches castle.
Knock on the door of said castle and humbly ask for lodgings for the
night.
Enjoy the night in a spacious castle apartment overlooking the moat.
View from castle kitchen
This will include a lovely breakfast with the lord of the castle in his quirky castle kitchen. …
Curious Man poses for photo opportunity with Lord of the Castle.
Day 9
You’ll be relieved to know that the Curious Man is leaving the
scariness of the Autobahn for the little country roads with no trucks and
quaint German villages. (Actually he really concentrates when driving the
autobahn, so it’s not too bad-we just want to take you on the Castle Road).
On the way you'll visit Regensburg, a very pleasant town popular for people from all around the world as a wedding venue.

After
a pleasant day wandering through villages, sampling pretzels and climbing
castles,

I can appreciate that there were so many 'WOW' moments!! Great stuff!!
