Days 23, 24, 25
It’s off to Lezzeno on Lake Como!
Living on the edge – part 1
Please be warned-
The road? to Lezzeno is VERY narrow and twisty with stone houses right up to the edge.
The Curious Man will demonstrate his impressive, but reckless driving skills punctuated with “helpful” cries from the Nice Wife’:
“Watch the edge!” “Keep right!” “Car coming!” “Careful of that house!” “Ooh, you came close!”
Living on the edge - part 2
There is no edge.
Your accommodation is literally on the lake. -all you can see from the windows is the water below, a patchwork quilt of villages on the far side, snow-covered mountains in the distance and waterfalls tumbling down the hills.

And for an all round watery experience, we’ll time your arrival with the wettest spring in living memory (as testified by 89 year old Lezzeno resident).
Never mind, carry on regardless, and enjoy the photogenic cloud effects, as the Curious Man would say.

First stop, supplies…and off to Lezzeno's one and only Saturday evening pop-up fruit stall.
Up the stairs, second door on the right, knock and wait for lady in her senior years to struggle out of her chair to serve you.
Your time at Como will be spent, umbrella at the ready, exploring the beautiful gardens and villas,
Villa Monasterie
villa Balbiano

riding ferries,
buying shoes, and eating freshly caught fish at the local restaurant, Fritto di Misto.
On the last day, there’ll even be THREE thunderstorms to keep you on your toes…
Even the ducks will have had enough!
next time, Curious Man clocks up country number 8!
